How close to campus are you?

​We are located 2.1 miles from San Diego State University. We are only one Trolley stop away from the main campus.

How do our rates compare to on-campus housing rates?

​When comparing our rates to on-campus rates you must take into consideration many variables, including floor plan layout, square footage, furniture, utilities and community events. Our leasing staff is available to discuss with you how our rates compare to other housing options and validate that our community offers you the best value for your money, as well as a great location and incredible amenities.

How are roommates assigned?

​Roommates can be matched in a couple different ways – either you tell us who you want to live with, or if you don’t have roommates in mind, we are happy to do the matching for you! We look closely at the information both you and your potential roommates have provided in your application and on your roommate matching card and work to find people that have the same or similar preferences. Although we don’t guarantee a perfect match, you can rest assured that we do our best to find you a good roommate.

Do you allow pets?

​Union Grantville is a pet friendly community! No more than one animal is permitted in a bedroom and no more than two animals are permitted in an apartment. Please contact the leasing office to discuss weight limits and breed restrictions.

How many people live there?

​Every year the total number varies just slightly, but we have room for 635 residents.

Is parking available?

​We have garage parking; spaces are limited. Electric Charging stations are available!  Please Contact the leasing office for pricing and availability.

What types of leases are available?

​We offer 12 installment leases for studio, 1-, 2-, 3-, and 4- bedroom apartments. The lease dates are August 16th, 2023 to July 31st, 2024, with the option to renew for one full year.

What utilities are included in my rent?

​Our utility package covers high-speed internet, gas, and trash. Water, electricity, and sewer will be billed back to residents. Each apartment has its own meter to calculate usage.​

Do I need a guarantor?

​All leases are required to have a guarantor. If an approved guarantor cannot be obtained Union Grantville will accept a security deposit.

What if I need to cancel my lease?

​Leases are legal contracts for the said term. Residents are responsible for the entire term of the lease. Please reach out to the leasing office with any questions.

Can I pay my bill with a credit card? Is there an extra charge?

​Yes! View your balance, submit electronic check, or pay with a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover from any computer or smartphone. Visit UnionGrantville.com and click the “Resident Login” button. There are convenience fees to make payments with credit card, or no fee for payments made by eCheck.

If I pay in full, do I get a discount?

​Union Grantville does not offer discounts for rent paid in full. However, prepayment gives you the peace of mind knowing that your account is in good standing at all times!

When do I put down a deposit?

​If you do not have an approved guarantor, you must pay the deposit when signing your lease. The lease agreement is not finalized until the security deposit or guarantor signature is obtained. The security deposit amounts vary – please contact the leasing office for more information.

When is my first payment due?

Fall residents will need to pay their first installment by July 15th, of the current calendar year.

Will you send me a bill each month for my rent?

​We do not send any type of invoice or reminder for rent. However, rent is due on the 1st of the month every month and is considered late on the 2nd.

Are apartments furnished?

​Our apartments are fully furnished and will include designer furnishings, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a 55” TV in the living room. All apartments include Smart thermostats and an in-unit washer and dryer.

What size are the beds?

​Our beds are full-size extra-long or twin extra-long, depending on the floor plan. Please reach out to a member of our leasing team to confirm your bed size.

Can additional furniture be brought into the apartment?

​You are welcome to bring additional furniture with you, but don’t forget that all of our apartments are fully furnished. You are welcome to move the furniture around to best suit your preferences, however if any furniture is removed from the property it will need to be stored at the expense of the resident and brought back at the end of your lease in the same condition it was originally in. We kindly ask that you speak with your roommates before bringing any additional furniture to avoid roommate conflicts.
